Aerial Service Cable (Concentric Neutral & Earth)
Aerial Service Cable (CNE) is primarily used for house service connections and is designed for single-phase supply applications. Although specifically manufactured for aerial (overhead) installations, it is also suitable for underground use in general low-voltage power distribution systems. It comprises a stranded hard-drawn tinned copper (TC) and galvanised steel wire (GSW) phase conductor, insulated with XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene). The insulated phase core is surrounded by concentrically arranged tinned copper and galvanised steel wires, and the complete assembly is sheathed with black polyethylene to provide mechanical protection and resistance to UV radiation. The combination of GSW and TC wires offers an anti-theft benefit by reducing the cable’s scrap value, without compromising electrical performance, mechanical strength, or long-term reliability
